Performing at the Grand Ole Opry is a lifelong dream for any country musician, and it’s a monumental experience if you’re lucky enough to make it up there.
On February 2016, contemporary country crooner Josh Turner got his turn at Nashville’s world famous Opry. However, what he did for his grandmother-in-law on the stage was amazing and it is now going viral.
During his set in front of the live audience, Turner says, “My wife’s 98 year old grandmother, her name is Lois Cunningham, and she’s gonna come out and play on the Grand Ole Opry stage for the very first time.” He actually invited his wife’s granny to take the spotlight and play “How Great Thou Art.”
We can all see that this has been Lois’ dream for years, but also how brave she is. Actually, she is finally getting her chance to play in front of so many fans. Josh Turner did a wonderful thing for Lois.
In the end, Lois receives a well-deserved standing ovation and I couldn’t hold back the tears. It is so amazing to see that dreams can still come true even at 98 years old. Please SHARE this with your friends on Facebook!
